In a winter vacation full of variety, fun and action, you shouldn’t miss out on a jolly sledge or bobsleigh ride. There are a couple of (natural) sledge runs in the region, some of them illuminated at night.
Mark your tracks through the fresh, glistening snow and enjoy the silence while snowshoe hiking. You can also soak up the beautiful snowy landscape on the many ploughed winter hiking trails. Choose between different lengths and difficulties; from a casual walk in the valley to an excursion to one of the alpine huts.
In curling, the social aspect is the most important thing, next to dexterity and movement in the fresh air. You can try it at one of the many curling sites near the ALPIN CHALETs. If you prefer ice skating, you can do so at one of the region’s ice rinks. The artificial ice rink in Wagrain is open at until the evening hours in winter thanks to floodlight.
Whether as a romantic couple activity or together with the whole family — cuddled up in thick blankets, a horse-drawn sleigh ride with exceptional mountain views is an unforgettable experience.
If you are keen on an adventure, you can climb through an ice fall with a climbing spur, ice pick, belt and helmet. The Alpin Center in Flachau offers lessons for different levels.
